Gabriela's Plight

This is the second in the series called The Refugees. This oil reflects my concern about the overall welfare of people who are forced to leave their homes due to soil conditions that yield no crops or extreme violence. This Guatamalan mother and her 2 children have few possessions but hope for a better life somewhere else.

There are so many individuals and families worldwide who are forced to leave their homes because of war, famine, and/or climate change. This painting tells the story of one family who lost everything, but the clothes on their backs
