This is the mythical story about a child in a U.S. refugee camp. The painting is designed to elicit emotion and concern a people who created no problems, but suffer greatly.
This is the third in the Refugee series.  Alejandra represents the 500 plus children who were taken from their families by U.S. border authorities and placed in camps with little hope of seeing their parents again. This painting toured with the North Dakota Human Rights Arts Festival, traveling to 6 cities before it closed on August 28, 2021. #NDHRFF4. It was also shown at the Bloomington Center for the 2021 Member Juried Art Show.
